Two Generations, One Commitment: Voting as a Family Tradition

By Robert Vincent, Candidate for House of Delegates, District 99

Today, Brenda and I went to the polls together — continuing a family tradition that began more than 35 years ago. With us was Brenda’s mother, Jeanette, who at 94 has voted in every election since women first gained the right to do so. Her example reminds us that civic participation isn’t just a right — it’s a responsibility passed from one generation to the next.

A Legacy We Carry Forward

Jeanette’s lifelong commitment to voting is a living reminder of how far we’ve come and how much we owe to those who paved the way. Brenda and I vote not only for our future, but in honor of hers — for the generations who fought to make sure every voice could be heard.

Why We Made It a Family Affair

Voting together is our way of showing that democracy begins at home. When families participate, they strengthen the bonds of community and remind each other that our choices matter — not just for ourselves, but for everyone who calls West Virginia home.

Civic Participation Builds Stronger Communities

Casting a ballot is one act of civic contribution, but it’s part of a larger pattern — volunteering, helping neighbors, showing up for local meetings, and staying informed. These are the ways we keep our democracy vibrant and responsive.

Your Voice Matters vote early on April 29, 2026, or thru May 12, 2026

As we approach the May 12 Primary, I encourage every voter to think about voting early if possible and make a plan to vote — and to bring someone with you. Whether it’s your spouse, a friend, or a neighbor, your participation helps shape the direction of our state.

And remember unaffiliated or independent voters can request the Democratic ballot in the Primary. Your voice matters.

A Future We Build Together

Today, Jeanette, Brenda and I voted — not just for a candidate, but for a vision of a West Virginia where every person’s voice counts. Let’s keep that tradition alive. Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep building the future together.

Thanks for your time and support,

Rob Vincent,

Candidate for House of Delegates,

District 99, Jefferson County, WV
