A Healthier West Virginia Starts with Us

Every election season brings a new wave of national headlines, polling memos, and political forecasts. Lately, much of that noise has centered on the Make America Healthy Again movement — a reminder that, across the country, people are hungry for something simple: a government that protects their health, their families, and their future.

Here in West Virginia, we don’t need a poll to tell us what matters. We live it every day. We see the impact of unhealthy food in our schools, chemicals in our water, and decisions made far from the communities that feel their consequences. We know that health isn’t a partisan slogan — it’s a kitchen‑table issue, one that shapes our kids’ opportunities, our workers’ strength, and our seniors’ dignity.

What’s striking in the recent national conversation is how many Americans — across parties — are saying the same thing: they want leaders who take health seriously, who aren’t afraid to challenge powerful industries, and who put people before lobbyists. They want action, not theatrics. They want results, not rhetoric.

That resonates deeply with me. It’s why I’m running.

For too long, West Virginians have been told to settle for less — less transparency, less accountability, and less investment in the wellbeing of our communities. But our state has always been strongest when we stand together, when we insist that our families deserve clean water, real food, honest government, and a fair shot at a healthy life.

And here in Jefferson County, we’re seeing firsthand how decisions about our health and environment are being made without us. The rapid push for high‑impact data centers — often negotiated behind closed doors — brings real questions about air quality, water use, diesel emissions, and the strain placed on local infrastructure. These are not abstract concerns; they’re health concerns. They’re community concerns. And they deserve honest answers and public involvement.

What gives me hope is that people who care about these issues — whether they call themselves MAHA, independent, Republican, Democrat, or none of the above — are finding common ground. They’re tired of being taken for granted. They’re tired of being “rented” by political machines that remember them only when it’s convenient. They’re ready for leaders who listen and act.

In my campaign, we’re building that kind of coalition — not by chasing labels, but by focusing on shared values.

Protecting our food supply. Reducing harmful chemicals. Supporting local farmers. Strengthening public health. Ensuring that every child in West Virginia grows up with a fair chance at a healthy life. And yes — making sure that development in Jefferson County is transparent, responsible, and aligned with the health and wellbeing of the people who actually live here.

If you’re someone who believes in those priorities… well, you may already be part of this movement, whether or not you’ve ever used the acronym.

This campaign is about bringing people together — neighbors, parents, workers, advocates — who want to see West Virginia lead with integrity and courage. If that sounds like you, I hope you’ll stay connected, stay engaged, and help shape the conversation ahead.

Because the truth is simple: a healthier West Virginia won’t come from Washington. It will come from us.

It’s time to bring that spirit back to Charleston.

Results, Not Rhetoric. Transparency, Not Secrecy. Leadership, Not Backroom Deals.
